From Bellagio, follow the road to Civenna and continue towards Piano Rancio, where you will find signs for Rifugio Martina. The trail to the summit starts from there. From Como, take the road through Erba and Asso until you reach the car park.
Brunate and the Volta Lighthouse
Located just a few kilometres from the city of Como, Brunate is a charming village known for offering one of the most spectacular views of Lake Como. Here, you’ll also find the Volta Lighthouse, a 29-metre-high tower dedicated to Alessandro Volta, the renowned inventor. From the lighthouse, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama that stretches across the lake and the Alps.
To reach Brunate and the Volta Lighthouse, you can take the Como-Brunate funicular. The journey takes around seven minutes and already offers unique scenic views. To reach Vezio Castle, you can walk from the centre of Varenna in about 30 minutes. If you prefer to avoid the uphill walk, there is a car park near the castle entrance, accessible by car.
