Halloween is coming up. It's time to get rid of all of your furnishings and completely redecorate the house to get into the spirit... Wait, who said that we turn your house upside-down for the Halloween festivities? For the decorations for the scariest night of the year, all you need is a few small DIY tricks and a pinch of creativity. Whether it's a children's party you are going to host, or an evening with friends, it takes very little to transform your apartment into a haunted abode, with pumpkins, ghosts, and cobwebs. And we have some ideas to get you started.
Vamp up the furniture

Often, giving a "human" appearance to household objects can make all the difference. Giant googly eyes on the furniture or zigzag mouths stuck on the globe, this anthropomorphisation always has a certain unnerving effect. Unleash your imagination and don't be afraid to dare.
Terrifying details

If you want to make a real difference with your decoration, it all lies in the attention to detail. And most of the time, this won't even cost you too much time or money. It may be enough to "recycle" a broken old doll to add a macabre detail to the home, perhaps its severed head on top of a piece of furniture. Another good idea is to replace your "good" photo frames with fun Halloween themed ones.
Turn your home into a a cave

Among the great Halloween classics are bats, and the best ones are DIY. Making them it takes very little; a little black cardboard, a pencil, and some scissors. This is the ideal activity for getting the children involved in the preparations and though simple the bats can have a really great effect on the atmosphere in your house, especially if you hang them from the light fitings.
The importance of color

Orange, a colour that strikes fear... in few people, but is nonetheless the recognized colour of Halloween, along with black of course. Play around with different materials in this colour, to make a background where you can go nuts adding details in other colours. Then find any undecorated corners, and you have something to fill them; decorating the spaces of the house in a striking, colorful way.
Spooky furnishings

More important than colour however, is knowing how to play with the features of the room. These will be the centrepieces of your decorating. In this case, for example, the fireplace offers the opportunity to create a "tomb", with the addition of colored details andof course, cobwebs, that dominate the structure.
Objects everywhere

Everyone knows: less is more. Forget that, at least for one night. On Halloween this golden rule of decor is subverted, and the messier the details, the better. Don't hold yourself back, scatter the strangest objects you have everywhere in the house.
Subdued terror

If you really don't like clutter, then here is the alternative for you. To create the right Halloween atmosphere, just place a classic pumpkin statuette on a shelf. And maybe stick some cobwebs and spiders on a piece of bare furniture. Done!
Minimalist pumpkins

And if you are going even more subdued, then the best you can indulge in is a basket of pumpkins, not decorated. You can play with colors, perhaps combining orange and black, with a few touches of white.
