When is the chocolate festival in Perugia?
Eurochocolate 2025 runs from 14 to 23 November. Over ten days, visitors can enjoy tastings, live cooking demonstrations, chocolate sculptures, and workshops showcasing artisanal chocolate and international delights, with events taking place across the main sites in the historic centre.
The two central weekends are usually the busiest, so weekdays are ideal if you want to explore the festival more leisurely. This year’s theme, “The Festival Among the Clouds” (Choco Cloud), promises immersive installations, “floating” sensory experiences, and lightness-inspired activities—a theme that will combine tastings and performances throughout the city.
Where is Eurochocolate 2025 and how to get there
The festival is held in Perugia’s historic centre, mainly along Corso Vannucci, the city’s main street, and the surrounding squares. Many of Perugia’s top sights, like the Palazzo dei Priori, are right here. Stands, tasting areas, and workshops are spread out across the city, with pedestrian links and escalators making it easy to move between different areas of the upper town.
Getting to the centre is simple:
- Train: Arrive at Perugia station, then take a local bus or the Minimetrò (towards Pincetto) to reach the city centre in just a few minutes.
- Minimetrò: Connects Pian di Massiano (park-and-ride) to Pincetto, close to Corso Vannucci.
- Car: Follow the E45 or take the Valdichiana exit on the A1 towards Perugia. It’s best to park outside the city centre, as it is often pedestrianised or restricted by ZTL zones.
- Air: Umbria International Airport is about 20 minutes from the centre, with shuttles, taxis, and car hire providing easy access.
Eurochocolate 2025 programme
The festival offers plenty of new experiences for chocolate lovers. Highlights include Spazio Nuvola in Piazza Matteotti, where visitors can discover and taste the latest creations from Costruttori di Dolcezze. At The Chocolate Bar, the soft Colpo di Fulmine will make its debut, a collaboration with designer Matteo Ragni. Families and children can enjoy Nuvolab, a space dedicated to fun and educational activities.
The Chocolate Show and Eurochocolate World will feature 40 brands from 22 cocoa-producing countries, with a special focus on premium cocoa from the Caribbean and Colombia’s Arauca region. The ChocoLab at the historic LAB-Luisa Annibale Base will host guided tastings, the cocoa ceremony, and unusual chocolate pairings.
A major new attraction this year is the Città del Cioccolato, Italy’s first experiential chocolate museum, opening to the public in October.
