The best time to visit Favria Tulip Village is from late March to early May, although the exact dates depend on the weather. The fields open to the public only when the tulips are at their peak bloom, starting on 28 March, ensuring a truly spectacular display. The 2026 season closes on 3 May.

Tulip blooms at Borgata Chiarabaglia in Favria are closely linked to temperature: a mild winter can bring an earlier opening, while a cold March may delay it by a few weeks. Typically:

  • Blooming starts in the second half of March.
  • Peak bloom can be admired in the first two to three weeks of April.

Where to see tulips in Piedmont in 2026

Favria Tulip Village will be one of Piedmont’s main floral events, but it’s not the only option for colourful fields. Favria, located in Canavese around 30 km from Turin, is easy to reach by car and well connected to nearby towns.

Unlike more structured botanical parks, Favria allows visitors to walk among the tulips, enjoy the scent, and pick flowers themselves.

Another “you-pick” tulip field is near Stupinigi, called Tulipani Italiani, located in Grugliasco (Strada del Portone 197). It’s a spacious garden where visitors can walk, take photos, and gather tulips during the spring.

  • Favria historic centre: A charming small town 36 km from Turin. Stroll the streets to admire historic churches and traditional architecture.
  • Favria Castle: The Castle of the Marchesi Monferrato dominates the main square. Built for defence, it features two cylindrical towers and a massive square neo-Gothic tower with four corner turrets, connected by an archway to the nearby Church of San Michele.
  • Ducal Castle of Agliè: Part of the Canavese Castles circuit, featuring many rooms, a small theatre, a gallery, and a beautiful park.

Living in Favria

One reason people choose Favria is the generally more affordable housing compared to Turin.
