
According to the "City Costs Barometer", the annual ranking from Britain's Post Office Travel Money, the cheapest European cities to spend a weekend in are in Eastern Europe. Krakow, Riga and Vilnius take the podium according to such parameters as the price of accommodation, public transport, visits to museums, the cost of a dinner, a drink or a coffee. A weekend break in these cities costs less than 200 euros.
There are no Italian cities in the top ten. We do find in the ranking of the top 20 cities, surprisingly, Rome, where a weekend away costs less than a stay in Berlin: 323 as opposed to 324 euro.

Riga (Latvia): 197 euro

Warsaw (Poland): 206 euro

Budapest (Hungary): 210 euro

Lille (France): 240 euro
