The beautiful Italian villa that forms the setting for Luca Guadignano’s Oscar-nominated 2017 film Call Me By Your Name is now on the market. Fans of the film, based on the book of the same name by André Aciman, can find the Call Me By Your Name villa for sale on idealista for 1.7 million euro.
Villa Albergoni, as the 17th-century property is known, will be familiar to many as the main house where most of the action takes place in this coming-of-age drama starring Armie Hammer. The location of the house is the tiny village of Moscazzano in the province of Cremona, in the northern Italian region of Lombardy. Director Luca Guadignano said he had been dreaming of buying the luxury Italian mansion for years, but eventually settled for filming there.

The house has a total surface area of 1,400 metres squared, which is 15,000 square feet, and sits on a plot of land of about 20,000 m2 (215,000 sq ft), much of which is beautifully landscaped gardens. There are 14 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, not to mention traditional antique furniture and decorations such as the carved, wooden entrance door and the beautiful, frescoed ceiling in the main hall which was painted by Aurelio Busso, a student of Raphael's.
Those looking to holiday in the villa for a summer as the characters in the film do will be disappointed as the house is not for rent, but it is for sale and would make a great purchase for anyone looking to buy a property in the Italian countryside. Take a look at these stunning photos of the Call Me By Your Name villa, and even the house floor plan, for a peek inside one of Italy’s greatest ancient palaces.
