Inside a prefabricated house

Prefabricated houses are rapidly gaining an increasing share of the market, including in Italy, in particular since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. This growing interest has also helped to increase knowledge around the subject, including with regards to necessary permits and production costs. But how long does it take to build a prefab house? Let's find out together.

As well as cutting costs, the production process for prefabricated houses saves a lot of time. Producing the modules that make up the structure in a factory not only means pre-cutting the components with Ce-certified precision and quality, but also cutting the production times on site by two thirds compared to those required for a traditional house.

The quality standards of the modules built in the factory, as mentioned, are very high and guaranteed by an automated process right down to the millimeter which practically cancels any margin of error. This lets the manufacturer of the prefabricated house arrive at the location where the house will be built, with the product already in a very advanced state, for example with the shutters, the fixtures and the external coat pre-installed or with the electrical system already set up inside the walls.

As you could imagine, all of this translates into great time saving. But how long does it take overall, from the moment you ask for a quote to when the house is ready?

If the customer shows up with a project already authorized by the relevant Municipality, they will start with an advantage. The integrated design takes a couple of months, the prefabrication in the factory another 2 or 3 months and at the same time the foundations can be laid. From the day of the order, hopefully, in 9-12 months you can step into the house. Even if you go for one of the more high-end options.
