The Emilia-Romagna region in Italy has launched a new initiative for young couples and families who want to change their lives and buy a house in one of its 121 municipalities. It offers from 10,000 to a maximum of 30,000 euros to those who want to move to the area, and applications end on 10th November. We have the details about how you could get paid to live in Italy.

The competition aims to encourage the repopulation and revitalisation of the region's mountainous areas through non-refundable grants for the purchase of a property for habitual dwelling. The contribution is limited to the acquisition of housing already existing on the date of approval of the public notice and located in "mountainous municipalities".

The maximum value of the housing grant, in any case, cannot exceed 30,000 euros and is equivalent to 50% of the costs incurred for the purchase of the house. The minimum contribution that can be requested is 10,000 euros. The amount of the contribution is decided by the applicant at the time of the application for participation; furthermore, the applicant undertakes to ensure the amount of co-financing required to cover the overall cost.

Who can apply?

  • People with Italian citizenship or citizenship of another European Union state or of other non-EU states in accordance with immigration legislation - not that all applicants need either Spid or CIE digital credentials.
  • Those with registered residence or who wish to exercise an exclusive or main work activity in a municipality of Emilia-Romagna;
  • Applicants must been born after 01/01/1982;
  • Those applying must not have previously received any public subsidy for the purchase of housing.
