If you’re looking for things to do this Halloween in Italy, 2026 brings witchy festivals in medieval villages, grand-villa masquerades, lantern-lit ghost walks and plenty of costume parties.

Halloween falls on Saturday, 31 October, followed by All Saints’ Day on Sunday, 1 November. Alongside the late-night plans, the more reflective side of the weekend remains important, with families visiting cemeteries, leaving flowers for relatives and preparing for All Souls’ Day on 2 November.

Rome Halloween 2026: museum nights, cinema and late parties

Rome tends to mix dark history with a properly late night. Expect ghost walks, catacombs, fancy-dress parties, underground venues and kid-friendly workshops.

Specific events announced for 2026 include:

  • CULTO at MACRO: on 31 October, MACRO – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Roma becomes an immersive electronic-music event with light installations.
  • Halloween at Serre Barberini: a costume-friendly evening in the greenhouses of Palazzo Barberini.
  • Halloween Sucks: All You Can Bite, All Night Long at Cinema Troisi: an overnight vampire-film marathon continuing into the morning of 1 November.

Bologna Halloween 2026: museum stories, student parties and family sessions

Bologna has a strong student-led Halloween scene, particularly around Via Zamboni, alongside family events in cultural venues and neighbourhood spaces.

For Halloween 2026, the programme includes:

  • Bologna da brividi – Family Tour at Palazzo Pepoli: families can explore eerie stories at the Museum of the History of Bologna.
  • Halloween at Casa di Quartiere Katia Bertasi: on Thursday, 29 October, the community venue hosts circus workshops, inflatables, entertainment and DJ sets.
  • Obsession – Erasmus Halloween Night at Chalet dei Giardini Margherita: a Halloween event aimed at Bologna’s international student community.

Florence Halloween 2026: family trails, themed breakfasts and All Souls’ traditions

Florence generally takes a slightly quieter approach than Rome or Milan, with family activities, food-led events and history-based tours taking centre stage.

Events scheduled for 2026 include:

  • Halloween Kids & Families at Hard Rock Cafe Florence: a morning event on Saturday, 31 October, centred on a Halloween-themed breakfast buffet for children and their families.
  • Halloween Tour in Florence’s historic centre: a guided, game-style walk that uses puzzles and local stories to keep the tone light rather than frightening.
  • El Día de los Muertos at Villa Petriolo: on Sunday, 1 November, a day focused on Mexican food, music and Day of the Dead traditions.

Naples Halloween 2026: underground history and family fright nights

Naples suits Halloween without trying terribly hard. The city’s underground sites, folklore, Baroque churches and late dining culture bring plenty of atmosphere, while the wider calendar has several family-focused events outside the historic centre.

For 2026, look out for:

  • Edenlandia Horror World: running from 3 October to 1 November, with free admission to the park.
  • Naples Horror Festival: scheduled from 12 October to 22 November, with free admission. Theatre laboratories for teenagers, street performances and acrobatic shows.

Milan Halloween 2026: darkwave, club nights and ghost stories

Milan’s Halloween scene is usually built around ticketed club nights, concerts, bar crawls and themed cocktails.

Specific Milan Halloween events for 2026 include:

  • Selofan live at Slaughter Club: the Greek darkwave and post-punk duo plays on Saturday, 31 October.
  • Halloween Ghost Tour: Sforzesco Castle to San Bernardino alle Ossa: an evening walk linking two of Milan’s most macabre historic locations.
  • Mamacita Halloween at Fabrique: a large club night, featuring reggaeton, hip hop and urban music on 31 October.
  • Halloween bar crawl from Ostello Bello Milano Duomo: the social event includes shots and skip-the-line entry at participating venues.
  • Crazy HalLEOween Nights at Leolandia: every Saturday in October until 31 October. Expect rides after dark, DJ sets at the Minitalia Stage and street food.

Venice Halloween 2026: masks, pumpkins and a lagoon cruise

Venice is generally less club-heavy than Rome or Milan but is certainly one of the best places to spend Halloween in Italy. Masks, narrow lanes, theatre and lagoon reflections supply enough atmosphere, while mainland Mestre has more family activities.

For 31 October 2026:

  • Venezia Catamaran Halloween cruise: a two-hour evening sailing with live music, buffet dinner and fancy dress.
  • Pumpkin Village in Piazza Ferretto: a family-friendly pumpkin-themed event in Mestre.
  • Ca’ Mestre pumpkin village: another daytime option in Mestre, suited to younger children and families.

Halloween festivals in Italy 2026 beyond the main cities

Italy’s larger Halloween events are often held outside the biggest cities, where theme parks, circuits and smaller historic towns have room for more ambitious set-ups.

  • Mirabilandia Halloween Horror Festival, Emilia-Romagna: running from Saturday, 26 September, to Sunday, 1 November 2026.
  • Monsterland Halloween Festival, Imola: on 31 October, Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari becomes a large-scale music and entertainment site.
  • Festa delle Streghe, Corinaldo: the medieval town in Marche traditionally stages witch-themed street entertainment, food stalls, family activities and night-time events around Halloween.
  • Halloween in Triora, Liguria: the village’s history of witch trials shapes its usual Halloween programme, which often includes craft markets, talks, theatre, fire performances and guided walks.
  • Fucacoste e Cocce Priatorje, Orsara di Puglia: a late-October All Saints’ Night ritual involving fucacoste bonfires and illuminated carved pumpkins, called cocce priatorje.
