Bobbio, in the province of Piacenza, has been elected the most beautiful village in Italy. The small town in Emilia Romagna won the 2019 edition of the contest "Borgo dei borghi" organised by Rai Tre.

The three members of the judging panel in the studio and the audience declared Bobbio, in the center of Valtrebbia, located at the foot of Mount Penice, 272 meters high, with a population of just over 3,500 inhabitants, the winner.

The main feature of Bobbio is its famous Old Bridge, also known as the Hunchback or Devil's Bridge for its unmistakable wavy and twisted profile. It is a 280-metre-long bridge with eleven unequal arches.

Borgo was elected the most beautiful village in Italy triumphing over Palazzolo Acreide in Sicily (second place) and Rotondella in Basilicata (third place).
