Set on the banks of the Grand Canal within the historic Palazzo Papadopoli, Aman Venice is a five-star ultra-luxury hotel renowned not only as the wedding venue of George and Amal Clooney, but also as the romantic hideaway chosen by newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez, who recently tied the knot in Venice, alongside a constellation of celebrity guests.
The Aman Hotel at Palazzo Papadopoli, Venice
Built in 1570, the palazzo was adorned from its earliest days with frescoes and exquisite art collections. Nearly a century later, in 1864, the palace was purchased by the Papadopoli family and, through marriage, passed into the hands of the Arrivabene Counts. To this day, the family resides on the top floor of the residence. In 2013, following a meticulous restoration, part of the palazzo was transformed into Aman Venice, a five-star sanctuary of timeless elegance.
A symbol of grandeur and refined taste, the palace fuses opulent Rococo masterpieces with sleek contemporary interiors designed by Jean-Michel Gathy. Two private gardens – a rare luxury in Venice – offer tranquil views from the hotel’s sumptuous restaurants and its most spacious suites.
The rooms and suites are adorned with frescoes and bas-reliefs by some of Italy’s most celebrated artists, including 16th-century architect Sansovino and 18th-century painter Tiepolo. Contemporary furnishings are seamlessly paired with silk-covered walls, glittering chandeliers, boiseries, chinoiseries, and hand-painted ceilings. Many rooms offer sweeping views over the Grand Canal.
