As of 6th December, the super green pass, the Covid digital certification that can only be obtained if vaccinated or cured of Covid, is in force. No enhanced green pass can be obtained by those who only present a negative Covid test. Let's see how to get the super green pass and how to download it.
The guide to the super green pass in Italy
Those who already have a green pass following vaccination do not need to do anything, because the QR code generated is still valid. Otherwise:
- For those getting vaccinated now, the certificate will be generated from day 12 after the first dose and will be valid from day 15 of the second dose.
- For other doses or after recovery from Covid, the super green pass will be generated after a couple of days and will be valid from day 14.
What happens in the case of a third dose or restock dose for single-dose vaccines?
After the third dose of the vaccine, a new green pass is issued and the vaccinated person will receive a message with a new AUTHOCODE by SMS or email within 48 hours.
The new green pass in this case will be valid for an unlimited period. From 12th November 2021, the new booster green passes have also contained the number of vaccination doses required:
- 2 of 2 in the case of a booster after a single-dose vaccine (Janssen);
- 2 of 2 in the case of a booster after a single dose following recovery from Covid-19;
- 3 of 3 in the case of a booster after completion of the first vaccination cycle with two doses or in the case of a booster for persons vaccinated abroad with a vaccine not authorised by the EMA.
Super green pass - how to download it
If you do not have a super green pass and would like to download it, you can do so in one of the following ways:
From the government website
You can access the website www.dgc.gov.it with your health card or Spid digital identity.
With the Immuni app or the IO APP

As an alternative to these codes, you can enter the authorisation code (AUTHOCODE) received by email or SMS to the contact details you provided at the time of the health service. The green Covid-19 certificate is shown on the screen and the QR code saved in the mobile device so that it can be viewed and displayed offline.
