Summer 2022 promises to be hot, and we're not just talking about the weather. Prices are also heating up, especially when it comes to fuel prices in Italy, as petrol and diesel continue to soar in part thanks to rising inflation. The high petrol prices that are hitting Italy will make travelling by car expensive, whether you live in the country and are planning a roadtrip, or if you plan to hire a car in Italy this summer. But how much? A Codacons survey offers the answer, as we have a look at current fuel prices in Italy and how much it could cost to go on holiday by car this summer 2022.
According to the Codacons survey, which compared a number of common road routes travelled by Italians and those visiting Italy during the summer period and the expenditure of motorists on travel: "Those who will be travelling by car this summer to reach Italian holiday resorts will have to put their hands in their wallets and pay significantly higher refuelling costs than last year".
