The Municipality of Milan with the collaboration of SEA Milan Airports has officially launched the Fly to Milan initiative, known as "Fly to Milano". The promotion is aimed at visitors and tourists who arrive in the Linate and Malpensa airports and stay at least two consecutive days in a Milan hotel participating in the initiative. By doing so, visitors will be given a third night for free, and is also valid during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The project, launched through the Milano&Partners agency, aims to promote the Milanese hospitality sector until 31st January 2021. During this period, only those who land in Milan's airports and book in the city's hotels participating in the initiative will be able to take advantage of the offer of a free night.
"After agreements with Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona and Mantua to promote local tourism", explains the Councillor for Tourism Roberta Guaineri, "we are launching an initiative to attract tourists from afar, offering them a unique opportunity to visit Milan and enjoy what it has to offer, which in December is enriched by the lights and atmosphere of the festivities of Sant'Ambrogio, Christmas and New Year's Day".
Among the main tourist and cultural offers, Milan offers the opportunity to discover neighbourhoods such as Nolo and the Navigli, to visit the great exhibitions of Monet at the Arcimboldi, Frida Kahlo at the Fabbrica del Vapore, the Museo del 900 or to have a last look at the Sala delle Asse by Leonardo da Vinci at the Castello Sforzesco, before closing.
"The initiative is the result of the collaboration between SEA, Milano&Partners and Hotelier Associations to promote Milan as a destination and stimulate the desire to return to travelling," added Armando Brunini, CEO of SEA. "Our airports are equipped with all the security measures to ensure the health and well-being of all passengers, as we are certified by the main national and European associations. We have decided to take part in the Fly To Milano initiative because we believe that at this moment an extraordinary and systemic effort is needed to relaunch Milan and its airports".
On the yesmilano.it website you can consult the list of participating hotels, find out how to book and visit the relevant facilities' websites. All hotels in Milan have adopted the safety protocol drawn up by the trade associations together with a scientific technical committee.
In order to take advantage of the promotion, visitors must have a flight ticket to Milan Malpensa or Milan Linate with an arrival date coinciding with the first night at the hotel. Reservations can only be made directly at the hotel or through travel agencies, according to any terms indicated by each hotel when joining the initiative. The third night can be used immediately or later, through a new booking.
