In Florence you can find an old Franciscan monastery dating from the 15th century that has been converted into a modern luxury hotel. The Hotel San Michele, part of the Belmond chain, boasts a façade attributed to Michelangelo himself.

The façade is surrounded by lush forests and terraced gardens. Located in the hills of Chianti, on the outskirts of the city, this establishment has 45 rooms, most of which have private terraces or gardens. One of the suites is Michelangelo, which occupies the entire width of the façade and was originally the convent's library. This is where Napoleon set up his headquarters in Italy.

In addition, the interior has a mural by Ferrucci in the dining hall, which has had to be restored.
